Michelle Keegan wants to star in a costume drama.
The 26-year-old beauty is set to depart her long-running role as Tina McIntyre in ‘Coronation Street’ next week and she has revealed she’d love to tackle a big period piece for her next acting project.
She told The Sun’s TV Magazine: "I’d love to be totally transformed for a part with a really dramatic look and some completely out-there costumes. I’m a massive fan of ‘Game of Thrones’.
"I’ve always wanted to play Henry VIII’s wife. Comedy and costume drama would be my fantasy come true."
Michelle also admits she wasn’t confident in her acting abilities for many years – despite playing Tina in ‘Corrie’ for six years – and has only recently learned to accept her talent.
She explained: "For years I felt I was a terrible actress. I felt like I stood out like a sore thumb and was a bit embarrassed about my acting. It’s only in the last couple of years that I’ve started to feel like I can actually act."
The brunette beauty’s barmaid character will be killed off in next Tuesday’s (27.05.14) episode of ‘Coronation Street’ when she plunges to her death after being pushed off a balcony by a mystery assailant.
