Michael Sheen lands Finding Dory role

Michael Sheen has landed a role in ‘Finding Dory’.

The 46-year-old actor will be voicing a character in the upcoming animated sequel – which is due for release this summer – though he hasn’t explained who he will play.

Asked at the end of an interview with the Doug Loves Movies podcast if he had anything to plug, he said: "’Finding Nemo 2′ should be coming out at some point… which I’m in."

It is unclear what role Michael takes, but because it is so close to the release of the movie, it is possible he could be re-voicing a character for the UK version of the film, though that has been deemed unlikely.

‘Finding Dory’ sees the forgetful blue tang – who is voiced by Ellen DeGeneres – go on a quest to find her parents but she ends up at a research facility in California.

Michael – who can next be seen as The White Rabbit in ‘Alice Through the Looking Glass’ – recently slammed the "snobbishness" of the movie industry and insisted he just looks for roles that "excite" him.

He said: "People will say to me, ‘You do things like ‘The Queen’ and ‘Frost/Nixon’ and then you do ‘Twilight’, ‘Tron’ and ‘Underworld’?’

"There’s no room for snobbishness, it doesn’t matter what genre you’re working in, you just make a connection with the work, and if it gets you going, it excites you and it’s the kind of work I’d like to go and see and I have a wide range of tastes."
