Michael McIntyre’s Big Show returning to BBC

‘Michael McIntyre’s Big Show’ will return to BBC One this autumn.
The BBC have ordered another six one-hour episodes of the entertainment programme, which will be filmed in front of a live studio audience of 2,000 people at the London Palladium, and will feature series favourites such as Send To All, in which a celebrity hands over their mobile phone to the presenter.
Michael said: "The BBC have once again asked me to steal celebrities’ mobile phones and break in to people’s houses in the middle of the night, and I couldn’t be more thrilled!
"’The Big Show’ is back with all the audience’s favourites, Send To All, The Midnight Gameshow and Unexpected Star Of The Show, plus big new ideas. I can’t wait."
The fifth series will feature the return of Midnight Gameshow, in which members of the public are woken up in the middle of the night to play, and in Unexpected Star a member of the public will perform in front of the Palladium audience.
Kate Phillips, controller of entertainment commissioning, said: "It’s great to have ‘Michael’s Big Show’ back containing even more big laughs and big surprises.
"It really is several shows in one sending treat after treat to all who watch."
The show’s move to the Palladium comes as the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane – where the programme has previously been filmed – is closed for refurbishment.
Cheryl appeared on the show in January and took part in the Send To All segment – which sees Michael send a message to everyone in the celebrity’s contacts book – during which her dad Garry Tweedy agreed to pose naked for "art lessons".
Reading out the text he wrote on the singer’s phone, Michael, 42, said: "Hi babe! I’m getting private art lessons and my homework this week is life drawing.
"Would you come round and pose naked for me?
"It’ll only take a few hours, we can have a good natter and don’t worry I’ll whack the heating up. If you’d rather we can position fruit and stuff in front of your naughty bits. Please say yes, need to know tonight!"
In a comical turn of events, the former Girls Aloud singer’s dad replied to the text confessing he’d only need a grape to cover his modesty because of how cold it is in Newcastle.
Reading out the message from Garry, Michael said: "It’s cold up here. I’ll only need a grape!"
‘Michael McIntyre’s Big Show’ will return later this autumn.
