Michael Greco to join Casualty

Michael Greco has confirmed he’s joining BBC’s ‘Casualty’.
The 46-year-old actor – who was renowned for playing Italian stallion Beppe di Marco in ‘EastEnders’ between 1998 and 2002 – will make a return to television screens this year when he takes on the role of Phil Paterson in the hospital drama.
Taking to his Twitter account on Thursday (19.01.17) night, he said: "Am delighted to be joining the cast of @BBCCasualty Such an amazing show that’s maintained such incredibly high standards (sic)," followed by a black heart emoji.
And, although he’s been away from the spotlight for quite a while now, Michael has been inundated with offers about potential roles but was forced to turn some down.
He tweeted at the time: "Never a bad thing having to turn down work when you’re working. Keep on moving 2017. Love ya already." Followed by praised hands emoji.
But his sights are set on a much bigger goal – to perform at the National Theatre.
He said: "An ambition of mine to appear at the NT. My favourite theater in the world."
Back in October, Michael, 46, went public with his romance with ‘Hollyoaks’ actress Stephanie Waring, 38, and she supported his return to television.
She said: "I think he should go back to ‘EastEnders’. I watched it when he was in it years and years ago and I loved watching him on it. He’s back to work as an actor now and back in the UK, he’s been in America for a few years."
And Michael would be open to an offer to portray the character again but he’s never been asked by bosses to go back.
When Stephanie asked him if he’d like to go back to Walford, Michael said: "Well I’ve never been asked to go back. You never say never, never close any doors. Who knows I mean I know so many characters come back to ‘EastEnders’."
