Michael Gambon thinks ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ is for "common" people.
The ‘Casual Vacancy’ actor is said to have a keen interest in ballet but insists he would never dream of appearing on the BBC One ballroom dance contest.
Asked if he’d ever consider taking part, he said: "No! I’m a terrible snob about it. I think, ‘Oh, that’s a bit common’."
The 74-year-old star – who admits he’s worried by the number of young people attending drama school who could end up never getting jobs – thinks its great there are so many actors from posh British backgrounds doing well in Hollywood at the moment.
Quizzed on what he makes of stars such as Benedict Cumberbatch and Eddie Redmayne – who both went to public schools – he told Radio Times magazine: "The more Old Etonians the better, I think! The two or three who are playing at the moment are geniuses, aren’t they?
"The more geniuses you get, the better. It’s to do with being actors and wanting to do it; it’s nothing to do with where they come from."
