Michael B. Jordan to make directorial debut

Michael B. Jordan will make his directorial debut on ‘The Stars Beneath Our Feet’.
The 30-year-old actor is set to helm the forthcoming film, based on the David Barclay Moore novel of the same name, after Endeavor Content acquired the big screen rights to the project – and he can’t wait to get started behind the camera.
Jordan told Deadline: "Directing has been an area I’ve wanted to explore for some time now.
"’The Stars Beneath Our Feet’ tells a story that really spoke to me, and I’m looking forward to jumping behind the camera. I’ve had the opportunity to work with some very smart and talented directors and it inspired me to take on this new challenge."
Jordan will produce the motion picture, while Barclay Moore will act as executive producer and pen the script based on the book, which was published in September.
The novel tells the story an African American boy who attempts to steer himself safely through the projects in Harlem following his brother’s death.
It looks set to be a busy 2018 for Jordan who was recently reported to have been cast in ‘Bittersweet life’, a remake of the 2005 Korean action thriller, in which he will portray a mobster.
The plot will explore the dark life of the gangster, who is ordered by his superiors to kill one of his lovers if they find out she has been unfaithful.
What’s more, Jordan is set to appear in the HBO film ‘Fahrenheit 451’ alongside Michael Shannon.
He has also been cast in the highly-anticipated Marvel movie ‘Black Panther’, in which he will play Erik Killmonger, an expert fighter and nemesis of Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman).
The motion picture, slated for a February 2018 release, is expected to expand on the storyline that was first introduced in ‘Captain America: Civil War’ of how T’Challa becomes the Black Panther.
