Meryl Streep is awful at golf

Meryl Streep has revealed she’s "terrible" at golf.
The 67-year-old actress admitted she sulked and "went home" when she tried the sport for the first time and didn’t manage to connect the club with the ball.
Speaking at a press conference for her new film ‘Florence Foster Jenkins’ on Tuesday (09.08.16), the actress said: "I can’t do a lot of things, like golf. I really don’t because I tend to like things that I can do right away. If I can’t do it right away, I don’t like it."
"I never hit the ball ever. I remember my husband [Don Gummer] saying, ‘You’re coming up on the ball. You’re coming up.’ And I said, ‘I’m not coming up!’ I’m like hunkered down, and I hit right on the top of it, and there was the ball always sitting there. I took it and went home. I don’t like it."
However, the ‘Devil Wears Prada’ star isn’t terrible at all sports, and has claimed she is in fact an avid skier.
She said: "Skiing I really like because you can sort of get up on skis, and if you are coordinated and completely without being reckless, you can lean forward and go. But golf, no! Nobody can do that."
Hugh Grant – who stars alongside Meryl in the biographical comedy about the world’s worst opera singer – has voiced the opinions of many on the subject, saying that it is "comforting" to think that the three-time Oscar winning actress isn’t good at everything.
He said: "I’d love to see you be bad at golf. I’d like to see you be bad at something. It would be very comforting."
