Melvin Odoom has been voted off ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
The former ‘Xtra Factor’ presenter and his professional partner Janette Manrara found themselves in the bottom two on Sunday (02.10.16) with Anastacia and Brendan Cole but they were eliminated without a dance-off.
Melvin and Janette received the lowest number of public votes and when it was discovered that Anastacia’s injury, which she struggled with on Saturday’s (01.10.16) show, would prevent her from performing again on Sunday, Marvin and Janette were sent home.
Melvin said: "I just need to say, every single person on this show; the contestants, the dancers, the production, the judges, everyone is absolutely amazing.
"It’s a blessing to be on the show and thank you for Janette, it’s been a great experience for me, so thank you.
"It was unexpected but I care about the people before everything else. I love Anastacia, I think she’s a great woman, she’s a great role model and her health comes first before everything else.
"As much as this is a great show and competition, her health comes first. It’s the way it is."
And Janette paid tribute to Melvin, who she called a "beautiful soul".
She said: "Melvin has got such a beautiful soul, such a gorgeous smile, an infectious personality and I just want to thank you for making this a short but extremely sweet journey for me."
