Meghan Trainor on getting in shape for comeback tour: ‘It’s like I’m training for the Olympics!’

Meghan Trainor has been “getting fit” for her next tour.

The 30-year-old pop star – who is married to ‘Spy Kids’ actor Daryl Sabara and has Riley, three, as well as eight-month-old Barry with him – has not been on the road since 2016 and joked that she feels as if she has been training for the Olympics in the run-up to her tour comeback.

She told People: “I’m feeling fit. I’ve never been so fit. I already told my household. I was like, ‘I am training for the Olympics, okay?’ I want to train and eat clean, and feel good when I’m dancing and singing. I don’t wanna be so winded, because right now, I’m winded!”

The ‘Been Like This’ hitmaker will kick off her US tour in September, but her upcoming sixth studio album ‘Timeless’ will be released two months before that on June 14, which happens to be her husband’s 32nd birthday.

She joked: “You’re welcome!”

Daryl added: “How cool is that?”

Meghan – who shot to fame in 2014 with the release of her viral body positivity track ‘All About That Bass’ and went on to release a string of hits including ‘Lips Are Movin’, ‘Dear Future Husband and ‘Me Too’ – is known for exploring “self-love” themes in her music and teased that the follow up to 2022’s ‘Takin’ It Back’ will feature more than ever before.

She said: “Singin’ these tunes! The most self-love, pop bangers ever on one album.”

Just days ago, the ‘Made You Look’ songstress revealed her latest record on Instagram and explained that the new project “meant so much” to her.

She said: ” This album means so much to me and I cant wait to share even more soooon!”
