Megan Thee Stallion hates ‘tongue-wrestling on Twitter’ over chart positions

Megan Thee Stallion says she did not get into music to be “tongue-wrestling” on social media with naysayers over chart positions.

The 30-year-old rapper insists she is “competitive” and would love to top the charts all the time, but she wishes people would actually pay attention to her music before getting behind the keyboard to compare her success to her peers.

Speaking at actress Taraji P. Henson’s I Am the Table Benefit Brunch on October 12, she said: “Of course, I’m competitive. Of course, rap is competitive, and hell yeah, I wanna win. I wanna be number one, for sure, but that’s not why I do it.

“I felt like, at a point, to please my fans because I love that my fans are very competitive, but I don’t wanna be tongue-wrestling on Twitter with you motherf****** about charting. And y’all don’t even like my music.

“Y’all wanna bully other people because you think that the next girl is not doing as good as me, or you think that I’m not doing as good as the next girl, but did you listen to any of my songs, for real? Do you hear what I’m saying? Do you like what I’m saying? Or you just wanna brag?”

Rap is known for its fierce rivalry with Megan having clashed with the likes of Nicki Minaj and Eminem.

Last year, the WAP hitmaker hit out at her critics for going “too far”.

She said on X: “It’s really sick how yall go out of the way to hurt me when you see me winning. Yall going too far, Fake a** s***. Just know today was your last day playing with me and I mean it. (sic)”
