Megan McKenna’s family join The Only Way Is Essex cast

Megan McKenna’s parents are to join the cast of ‘The Only Way Is Essex’.
The 23-year-old beauty has only been on the ITVBe reality show for one series but has been a big hit with viewers, who became enthralled by her romance with her co-star Pete Wicks, and now the show’s bosses are going to give Megan more time on-screen as her parents, Tanya and David, were spotted filming scenes last weekend.
Megan’s mum and dad will be joined by her younger sister Milly and they are already being tipped to be the next Wright Family.
A TV insider told The Sun newspaper: "Meghan’s only been on ‘TOWIE’ for one series but she has quickly become the show’s star. Viewers have been transfixed by her relationship with Pete Wicks and they want more.
"Now ITVBe bosses want to give her even more screen time and are hoping the McKennas will be just as popular as the Wrights were."
Since her arrival in Essex, the feisty brunette has brought with her plenty of drama and that looks set to continue if Sunday’s episode (24.07.16) was anything to go by.
Megan reached breaking point after rumours began to circulate that the former ‘Ex on the Beach’ star was spotted "grinding" on a mystery man during a Marbella getaway and things come to a head at the Sugar Hut nightclub in Brentwood.
Mike Hassini got involved with his own take on the rumours, and her beau Pete came to her defence, leading to a huge blowout on the programme.
It is unclear what the future holds for the pair, who started dating during the last season, but recently Megan’s pal Jasmine Walia insisted they will last.
She said: "Pete is such a lovely guy, I haven’t got a bad word to say about him. I think they will last, I don’t know if it’ll be years, but they’re going to have a good run at it. "
‘The Only Way Is Essex’ airs on Sunday at 10pm on ITVBe.
