Megan McKenna putting TV career on hold to ‘focus’ on music

Megan McKenna is putting her television career on hold to "focus" solely on her music.
The 26-year-old former ‘TOWIE’ star may have appeared on ‘Celebs Go Dating’ earlier this year but she has vowed that her stint on the romantic reality show is the last people will see of her on screens for the foreseeable future because she is putting all her energy into her country music career following the release of her debut album ‘Story of Me’ last December.
Speaking exclusively to BANG Showbiz, Megan said: "I’m totally focused on my music at the moment. Don’t get me wrong I’d never say never to doing reality TV but at the moment I want it to be all about my music."
Megan is heading out on a tour of the UK later this month and has revealed that she fell in love with the country genre after being told that her voice suits the style at a musical theatre audition many years ago.
She explained: "When I was really young I was at a musical theatre audition and the casting director was from America. They told me my voice was too country for the part. I went away to find out more about country music and just fell in love with it and realised that my voice really did suit it."
Megan will soon be heading back into the studio to record a duet with former ‘The Voice US’ contestant Kaleb Lee.
She said: "This year is all about promoting my album ‘Story of Me’, and when I was in Nashville I wrote a duet with Kaleb from ‘The Voice’ so we can’t wait to record that and release it. We first met and performed together at the London New Year’s Day Parade and I just love how our voices sound together."
Megan kicks off her ‘Story of Me Tour’ on May 30 at Chinnery’s in Southend-on-Sea.
