EastEnders’ Max Branning will destroy CCTV footage of him arguing with Lucy Beale.
The long-running soap character, played by actor Jake Wood, was embroiled in a secret affair with Lucy (Hetti Bywater) prior to her being found dead on Walford Common last month, and as police continue to investigate her murder, Max will be seen deleting video footage of the pair involved in an altercation just hours before she was killed.
The womanising character – whose daughter Lauren (Jacqueline Jossa) was close friends with Lucy – is desperate to hide the fact that he was romantically involved with the blonde beauty before she was killed by an unknown attacker, and will raise more suspicion by destroying evidence of them clashing.
Meanwhile, Masood Ahmed (Nitin Ganatra) is to confront Lucy’s father Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt) after he discovers he seduced his girlfriend Jane Beale (Laurie Brett) before she ended their relationship, and Nitin’s confessed he enjoys being able to show his character’s darker side.
He told the Daily Star newspaper: "It makes me work harder. It makes me get interested in the character again. That’s very important in soaps."
