Matt Evers plans to include ‘brutal’ lift in Dancing on Ice routine with Ian ‘H’ Watkins

Matt Evers is hoping to put a "brutal", anatomy-crushing lift into his and Ian ‘H’ Watkins’ ‘Dancing on Ice’ routine next week if they make it through this weekend.
In recent weeks, the pair have been practicing the roll up lift, which H said is like a "rolling pin and a kiwi fruit" around his nether regions.
He said: "We tried some lifts which were brutal. He text me saying, ‘Tomorrow, wear your dance jock.’
"Think of a rolling pin and kiwi fruit."
Matt added: "Or a hairbrush and a rolling pin."
They have made history on the show by becoming the first same-sex pairing, and Matt admits it has been "trial and error" to see what lifts they can do, but some have left H screaming in agony.
He said: "This has never been done before so going into this I wasn’t sure what was going to work and what wasn’t.
"It is trial and error and the first time we tried it, the scream that came out of his mouth you could’ve heard next door.
"But I think we’ve mastered it, and fingers crossed we get through another week and I’m hoping to put it into the routine next week."
While Matt and H’s pairing has attracted plenty of praise, H’s three-year-old twin sons Macsen and Cybi aren’t quite as invested in his skating.
Speaking on ‘Lorraine’, he added: "They’re not up [when the show is on] because they’re in bed. But I showed them the video and halfway through they go, ‘Can we watch ‘Peppa’?’ "
