Masterchef star Chizzy Akudolu: I’m not a great cook

Chizzy Akudolu has admitted she is not a "great cook" ahead of her appearance on the ‘Celebrity MasterChef’.
While the 44-year-old actress "likes to eat", the ‘Holby City’ star has hinted she could be set to have a few kitchen casualties on the pre-recorded programme.
Speaking on ‘Loose Women’ about what she has been up to, she said: "’MasterChef’. And just putting myself out to any show that’ll have me."
Presenter Nadia Sawalha asked: "Are you a good cook?"
Without giving too much away about the new series, which airs on tonight (23.08.18), Chizzy said: "I mean, I like to eat, so you know, I can cook. I can make food. I wouldn’t say I’m a great cook. I mean, I can put stuff on a tray."
The show will return with judges John Torode, 53 and Gregg Wallace, 53, who will oversee the celebrity contestants’ culinary skills.
When asked if the ‘Holby City’ star had learned anything in the kitchen, Chizzy said: "I did actually, John Torrode and Gregg Wallace they’re very hands on."
Other stars who are taking part in the cooking competition this year include TOWIE’s Gemma Collins, 37, Lily Allen’s dad, actor Keith Allen, 64, Strictly Come Dancing’s AJ Pritchard, and ‘Made in Chelsea’ star Spencer Matthews.
‘Celebrity MasterChef’ airs on tonight at 8pm on BBC One.
