Mary Berry feels ‘appalled’ her name is being used to promote cannabis oil products

Mary Berry is "appalled" her name and image are being used to sell cannabis oil products.
The 84-year-old TV star’s image has been used in a series of adverts that have appeared on Facebook, with the ads claiming that cannabis oil products have helped Mary to remain in good health.
In response, a statement on her website reads: "Mary has been upset to learn companies are still using her image to advertise products like skin cream without permission.
"Please be aware these are not genuine endorsements and Mary is not affiliated with the sellers. We’d advise people not to click on the links or buy these products."
The statement subsequently urged the public to report dodgy adverts to Facebook.
CBD – which is a natural compound found in cannabis and hemp – is often used to treat conditions such as anxiety and depression.
Last month, meanwhile, it was reported that Mary is set to front a cooking-themed version of ‘The Masked Singer’.
The ITV show – which asks the audience to guess the singer behind the mask – has been a big success with TV viewers, and the BBC is eager to use the concept to develop a new cooking show called ‘Rat In The Kitchen’.
The show will see six aspiring chefs prepare a series of dishes. One of the chefs will try to ruin the meals, and viewers will be asked to identify the rogue cook.
Speaking about the concept of the show, a source explained: "Viewers will have to work out if one of the chef’s made a mistake or is trying to win the show by cheating."
