Martin Roberts banned from driving

Martin Roberts has been banned from driving.
The ‘Homes Under the Hammer’ star has been forbidden from getting behind the wheel for almost two years after magistrates heard he refused to submit to a breath test when he was pulled over by police last November.
Cops reportedly stopped the 55-year-old presenter because they believed he was driving without insurance, and after speaking to him, suspected he was drunk but Martin insisted he "couldn’t be" breathalysed because of a medical issue.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "He was protesting, saying that he couldn’t be breathalysed. But officers wouldn’t have it. They took him to the police station where he continued to refuse to co- operate so they charged him."
Magistrates in Bath convicted Martin of failing to provide a specimen and he was handed a 23-month driving ban, fined £3,461 and told to pay £930 costs and a £120 victim surcharge.
However, his legal representative revealed he is planning to appeal.
His solicitor Charles Knapper said: "Mr. Roberts was convicted despite expert evidence that he suffers from medical conditions.
"He maintains he failed to give a sample only as a result of these conditions and is lodging an appeal."
While it is unclear what Martin’s medical problem was, he has previously spoken of how he has battled asthma – a long-term inflammatory disease, which affects the airways of the lungs – since he was a child.
However, after a brief stint in ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’ in 2016, he credited life in a camp with helping curb the condition.
He previously said: "I’ve been asthmatic since I was a child, and exercise reduces asthma, so at the start (of the show) I was walking down the stairs, getting the wood and water and stuff like that but gradually, and I haven’t put my finger on why, could it be the simple foods? Or the fact that there was no process foods, it was all rice and beans, could it be the fact we was outside, could it be exercise?"
