Martin Kemp wants to sign up for I’m A Celebrity’ next year

Martin Kemp wants to sign up for a spot on ‘I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!’ next year.
The 58-year-old star – whose son Roman finished third in this year’s ITV reality show – has changed his mind about heading into the jungle after watching his boy "have so much fun" on the most recent series.
Appearing on ‘Good Morning Britain’ on Thursday (12.12.19) with his wife Shirlie Holliman, the Spandau Ballet star musician explained: "Up until now, I’ve always said I wouldn’t do it but seeing him have so much fun, I think I would."
His partner quipped: "And I can stay in the hotel whilst he’s in there. I think Martin should definitely do it next year."
He then added: "I think it’s one of the best, iconic shows on television."
The couple – who wed in 1988 after being set up by George Michael – have spent the last month watching their son tackle creepy crawlies and "international" delicacies in the jungle.
But while Martin voted for Roman to face his fears, Shirlie was the one fearing for her son.
Martin said: "I looked over at Shirlie sometimes and I thought I was gonna have to take her to A&E she was that anxious."
Meanwhile, the ‘Gold’ hitmaker wouldn’t be the first member of Spandau Ballet to join the show, as Tony Hadley set up camp in 2015.
The 59-year-old singer finished in sixth place, and although he didn’t manage to get stuck in to as many trials as he would have liked to during his time in the jungle for the show but he thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
He previously said: "For medical research, we done jungle treks through the Costa Rica jungle where you’re carrying 50-60kg on your back and you do it for real so I love the jungle environment so for me, being back in the jungle again [for ‘I’m A Celeb…’] was amazing with all the insects and bugs.
"When you’re in there, the noise is phenomenal but you can’t see any birds because the jungle is so dense."
