Martin Freeman has joined the cast of ‘Captain America: Civil War’.
The 43-year-old actor has been announced as the latest face to join the anticipated Marvel film, alongside Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man, Chris Evans as Captain America, Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye and Anthony Mackie as Falcon, but no specifics of his role have yet been revealed.
The comic book sequel is currently scheduled to hit cinemas on 6 May 2016, and is directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, who oversaw the first ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier’.
Chris can currently be seen starring in ‘The Avengers: Age of Ultron’ as Captain America, but is looking forward to the third solo film in the franchise, especially as it could mean a new love interest for him.
He said: "I think we really scratched the surface on something great and I think there’s just so much to explore.
"Not just with the evolution of myself and [Anthony Mackie’s character, Falcon], but the reconnection with Bucky, and ultimately a relationship with a woman."
Asked whether the next film will feature a love interest, Chris said: "It’s funny when you think about it – he’s probably a virgin. He’s probably a virgin! I don’t know when it would’ve happened."
