Marlon Dingle’s Christmas chunder

Mark Charnock will throw up a "chunky fruit shake" twice on Emmerdale’s Christmas Day episode.
The 50-year-old actor’s alter-ego Marlon Dingle is supposed to have a Christmas Day (25.12.18) to remember this year after his significant other Jessie Grant plans a surprise wedding for the couple, but he manages to over-indulge on Christmas Eve (24.12.18) drinks, leaving him a little worse for wear on his big day.
He said: "This year is a real treat for me because I get to throw up twice on British television on Christmas Day.
"I thought, ‘Can we show this on Christmas Day when people are having their turkey?’ But they seemed fine with it. So I really went for it.
"It was fruit, a chunky fruit shake! Mmm delightful. And in the second vomiting scene I throw up in a wedding guest’s hat!"
Despite the Woolpack chef over-tipping it the night before, Mark revealed his alter-ego’s nuptials turn out to be "very romantic".
He said: "Marlon’s just overwhelmed by the surprise wedding and he’s also very light-headed because he got so hammered the day before.
"I don’t know whether being sick on your wedding day is a bad sign or not but coming out of that is a really delightful wedding. It turns out to be very romantic."
As well as enjoying shooting his vomiting scenes, Mark also had fun filming a comical moment when his character is hammered on Christmas Eve.
He added to What’s On TV magazine: "On Christmas Eve you will see me falling out of shot, visually it is funny.
"But the director said you don’t need a crash pad you are just going to fall back into someone’s arms. And when we did it, it really was funny. You always know it is funny when the crew laugh."
