Mark Labbett wanted Anne Hegerty to do trial

Mark ‘The Beast’ Labbett has admitted voting for Anne Hegerty to undertake a Bushtucker Trial on ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’.
The ‘Chase’ star thought the "logical challenge" would suit his friend’s skills and give her a boost after she threatened to quit the show just hours after entering the jungle at the weekend, as well as the chance to move to the better camp.
He told The Sun online: "I voted for her to do this trial because I saw it was a logical and mental challenge. I thought, ‘Yipee, she can do that’.
"She’ll be really good at it and be moved to a better campsite.
"It’s a positive vote. People voted for her because they want her to do well.
"They made a point of saying it was a mental trial beforehand.
"Although after the keys challenge in the first episode Anne was a bit shocked and stunned, she talked her way through it."
Despite Anne’s emotional outbursts in camp, the quiz expert is confident his friend – who got two out of ten stars in the ‘Monstrous Monoliths’ trial – will be "fine".
He said: "She won’t bottle it all up and then have a complete mega meltdown.
"She will get it off her chest quite quickly, has a little cry and then gathers herself together.
"She has got a will of iron that lady, she’ll be fine."
And Mark is backing Anne, who is nicknamed The Governess, to be named Queen of the Jungle, though he knows she’s got a lot of competition.
He said: "I can see a lot of people winning the show, Emily Atack has started off really well and John Barrowman.
"You don’t know what the Noel Edmonds factor will be when he comes in, because he’s such a big star and been around for so long. Will his fan base sweep all before it?
"The joy of ‘I’m a Celebrity…’ is it’s not always obvious who’s going to win from the start.
"It will be someone who the public suddenly starts taking a shine to.
"I’m hoping that this year it is Anne and the early signs are good."
