Mark Gatiss and Steve Pemberton join Good Omens

Mark Gatiss and Steve Pemberton have joined the cast of ‘Good Omens’.
The 51-year-old screenwriter is set to team up with his ‘League of Gentlemen’ co-star in the new Amazon Prime adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s novel of the same name.
While speaking exclusively to BANG Showbiz at the world premiere of his movie ‘The Mercy’ on Tuesday (07.02.18), Mark teased the upcoming project and said: "I’m off to South Africa on Thursday, if my Visa ever comes back. That’s a small cameo."
The TV project will see the duo take on the roles of mysterious book-buyers Harmony and Glozier as they join lead actors Michael Sheen and David Tennent in Cape Town.
On joining the cast Mark said: "I’m delighted to be working with David and Michael again and of course with Steve – bringing a little Film Noir menace to such an exciting project. Being bad never felt so good!"
Steve added: "To be asked to fly to Cape Town with Mark and meet up with old friends David and Michael working on a script from the genius mind of Neil Gaiman…?
"Well, you had me at Cape Town. Glozier and Harmony are a small piece of the jigsaw but hopefully one which will fit nicely into place."
The novel – which was a collaboration with the late Terry Pratchett – will be adapted into a six-part series and includes an impressive cast such as Jon Hamm, Miranda Richardson, Michael McKean, Jack Whitehall, Adria Arjona, Anna Maxwell Martin and Derek Jacobi.
Commenting on the casting, showrunner Neil said: "Part of the joy of Good Omens is getting to see what our angel and demon have been doing during human history.
"And part of the joy as a writer is writing parts with specific actors in mind. Steve Pemberton was my only choice for Glozier and Harmony has to be Mark Gatiss, in a film noir interlude set in 1941…"
Filming is reportedly set to finish in March.
