Mark-Francis Vandelli: My Jump injury won’t fully heal for a year

Mark-Francis Vandelli’s ankle will not "fully heal" for "one year" following his accident on ‘The Jump’.
The ‘Made in Chelsea’ star had to pull out of Channel 4’s winter sports show last month after he snapped the bone in his leg.
Mark has now revealed the full extent of his injury and he will have to undergo a further two operations, following one surgery and 16 stitches already.
Speaking exclusively to BANG Showbiz at the Martini Etiquette Masterclass he hosted at Hanover Square’s Dirty Martini in London on Tuesday night (22.03.16), he said: "I had to have 16 stitches. I need two more operations and it will take one year to fully heal. I’m still in pain."
The 27-year-old TV personality – who was the fourth celebrity to pull out of the series hosted by Davina McCall – has admitted his future plans are now solely centred on making a complete recovery.
He said: "The plan now is just to recover."
Despite the long-term impact the show has had on his health, Mark holds no grudge towards the producers of the programme.
He said: "’The Jump’ was a lovely concept. I was a good skier, although I never went to ski school."
Mark isn’t the only competitor still struggling with his ‘Jump’ injury.
Olympic gymnast Beth Tweddle is currently undergoing rehabilitation treatment after she suffered a serious spinal injury which required two of her vertebrae to be fused together.
Olympic swimmer Rebecca Adlington also still has her arm strapped up in a sling after she dislocated her shoulder doing the Air Jump challenge.
And ‘Holby City’ actress Tina Hobley is still in a cast after she dislocated her elbow and fractured her arm when the crew failed to vacate the landing area.
