Mark-Francis Vandelli doesn’t ‘know’ Made in Chelsea cast

Mark-Francis Vandelli "doesn’t know" the rest of the ‘Made in Chelsea’ cast.
The 27-year-old reality star rarely socialises with his co-stars in the fly-on-the-wall show when they’re not filming because they are not genuine friends and he disapproves of the way they lay their lives on screen.
He said: "I haven’t actually engaged with anyone other than Georgia Toffolo and Victoria Baker-Harber in this series because, in all honesty, I don’t know the rest of the cast. I have never had breakfast, lunch, or dinner with any of them. We’re just different groups. I’m very happy to see them, but they’re not my close friends.
"In all honesty, I don’t believe I could be very close to someone who is able to open up their lives so much because I’m a really private person and they’re probably not someone I would relate to.
"I’m not going to sit around a dinner table trying to concoct storylines."
But the designer wouldn’t want any of his real friends to appear on the show either.
He said: "I wouldn’t be able to watch my friends gossip about me! I don’t want to know what people say behind my back because they’re talking privately. I think it’s something that should remain between them."
And Mark-Francis – who isn’t in touch with his past co-stars either – claimed show newcomers fight for airtime on the programme because they have a "motive" for getting involved.
He told Star magazine: "If you decide to join a reality show in its 10th, 12th, or 15th series, you know what the deal is. You have a motive if you join the show today.
"You want publicity and you’re ready to open up your life.
"I had no idea what I was doing when I started because I was a prepubescent, rather sheltered, child. I did it for my brand, which worked out quite well."
