Mark Feehily it’s too soon for Westlife reunion

Mark Feehily thinks Westlife should follow Take That’s lead and only reunite when it’s right for every member of the group.
The 37-year-old singer and his bandmates – Shane Filan, Nicky Byrne and Kian Egan – decided to call time on the boy band in 2012 after 14 UK number ones and although they’ve only been gone for five years the clamour for them to reform from the fans has been a constant.
But Mark says he and the other boys are all happy doing their own thing and won’t get back together just because they could make some money.
The ‘Flying Without Wings’ hitmaker would rather copy Gary Barlow and co and get back together when it feels right.
Speaking exclusively to BANG Showbiz, Mark said: "I really think for us to get back together would be premature because we’ve only been gone five years. Take That were gone 10 years until they got back together, and I always admired them for that because they did
come back when the time was right."
Mark has been busy making music and is getting ready to release his first ever festive album, titled ‘Christmas’, which features a collection of classic Yule Tide favourites such as ‘Merry Christmas Baby’, ‘Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas’ and ‘Miss You Most (at Christmas Time)’.
The pop star has also been writing new songs for a second solo studio album and he hopes to unveil those tracks at some point in 2018.
Mark – who is supporting Mariah Carey on her ‘All I Want For Christmas’ UK tour – said: "I’d always wanted to do a Christmas album, there was talk of us doing one in Westlife but it never happened. I love Christmas and I just loved making this record.
"I’ve been living back in Ireland spending time with my dad and mum in Sligo where I grew up and spending time with my niece and I’ve been in the process of writing new songs and trying out some ideas. I really want to get stuck into it next year. I hope it will be out next year."
Mark’s new album ‘Christmas’ is available to pre-order now and will be released on December 1.
