Marion Cotillard reveals work-life balance struggle

Marion Cotillard struggles to strike a healthy work-life balance.
The 41-year-old actress has revealed she often spends a lot of her time away from a movie set thinking about her on-screen character – which is especially bad because she is typically drawn towards playing "disturbed or dramatic people".
She shared: "It is about finding the right balance between work and coming home without anything from the character.
"And it’s really hard because, when you spend two months on a project, you process in your dreams what you have lived during the day … And I have a tendency to choose disturbed or dramatic people."
Meanwhile, Marion also confessed that she finds it odd seeing herself age on a cinema screen.
She told the Sunday Times newspaper: "A woman who lives her life, wakes and looks at herself in the mirror, she has this routine, and every day you age a little more, but it’s not in your face. When you see yourself ageing on screen, it’s really weird.
"It’s interesting to experience, and I guess it could be scary, as you have a magnifier on your evolution, what you become."
The actress acknowledged that some people in the public eye struggle to cope with the ageing process, because they have, in part, been judged on their looks for the bulk of their careers.
She said: "It’s going to mess you up, as sometimes you are not as strong as you should be. A lot of people live with poison in their head.
"Fear is the most effective poison in this world. Fear of ageing. Fear of the other. Of the unknown… Fear of tomorrow… Fear of death. Because it all ends there."
