Marilyn is set to make a comeback

Marilyn is making a comeback.
The ‘Calling Your Name’ hitmaker – whose real name is Peter Robinson – rose to fame in the 1980s alongside acts including Culture Club and has been working on new music with his old friend Boy George, whom he shared a squat in London with when they were teenagers.
The ‘Boys & Girls’ hitmaker has co-written and produced Marilyn’s new single, ‘Love or Money,’ which references his Jamaican roots.
On working with the ‘Karma Chameleon’ singer, he said: "It was the first song George and I wrote/recorded together in the studio, earlier this year.
"It came about so organically and it was George who suggested going back to my roots, sonically – taking inspiration from the rhythms of the islands that soundtracked my childhood. I was born in Jamaica, spent the early years of my life there, I have duel English/Jamaican citizenship.
"Reggae has been a huge influence, but I’d never thought to incorporate it in to my own music before."
And fans have already been reacting to the music video for the track and Marilyn was "deeply moved" by the feedback he’s receiving from his fans.
He wrote on Twitter: "I’m stunned by the response to my song…I had no idea there was so much love out there for me…deeply moved (sic)."
Marilyn has only released one album before, 1985’s ‘Despite Straight Lines’.
Most recently he dropped singles ‘Sooner or Later’ and ‘Spirit in the Sky’ in 2003 and ‘Hold on Tight’ in 2002.
While Marilyn and Boy George haven’t always seen eye-to-eye they share a love for androgynous fashion.
Describing his look at the time, the 53-year-old singer said: : "I used to bring Oxford Street to a standstill. If you had bleached hair in the late 70s, you were gobbed at in the street. I mean, I was also wearing a corset, stilettos and an Anthony Price dress. I just didn’t care."
‘Love and Money’ is released on September 23
