Margot Robbie pledges support to anti-harassment campaign

Margot Robbie has thrown her support behind a new anti-harassment campaign.
The 27-year-old actress has become the latest big-name celebrity to pledge her support to Time’s Up by sharing an image on her Instagram account of an open letter written in the New York Times newspaper that calls on women to share their own experiences of harassment.
Alongside the screenshot, Margot wrote: "To my sisters (from all industries) Time’s up on silence. Time’s up on waiting. Time’s up on tolerating discrimination, harassment and abuse. #TimesUp Sign the solidarity letter & donate to the @TIMESUPNOW Legal Defense Fund: Link in bio. (sic)"
The campaign was launched by 300 well-known actresses and other figures within the movie industry, including the likes of Jennifer Lawrence and Meryl Streep.
The initiative also features a legal defence fund worth as much as $13 million, which is designed to help those women who do not have the finances to defend themselves.
The Australian actress previously came out in support of the women who have spoken about the sexual harassment they’ve experienced in Hollywood.
Margot – who has starred in movies such as ‘The Wolf of Wall Street’ and ‘I, Tonya’ – said: "Women are so resilient and I think the response to the whole Weinstein situation kind of proved that.
"Because it’s astounding how quickly everyone pivoted from being heartbroken about the news to, how do we move forward?"
The sexual harassment scandal erupted last year following a string of accusations made against Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein.
And Margot previously admitted she felt proud to be a woman because of the subsequent bravery shown by those people who came forward to share their stories.
She explained: "Everyone was so supportive immediately and then automatically looking to the future, which made me even more proud to be a woman."
