Margot Robbie in talks for Peter Rabbit

Margot Robbie is in talks to join the cast of ‘Peter Rabbit’.
The 26-year-old actress is reportedly in the final stages of talks to join Sony’s live-action and computer generated hybrid production which is an adaptation of the children’s tale penned by Beatrix Potter.
If Margot does sign a deal, she’ll join the previously announced cast of James Corden, Rose Byrne, Daisy Ridley, Domhnall Gleeson, and Elizabeth Debicki.
‘Peter Rabbit’ is being hailed as a modern interpretation of the original story – first published in 1902 – which will focus on the rivalry between the mischievous titular character and Mr. McGregor, a man trying to keep his garden free of rabbits.
The rabbit himself will be voiced by James, whilst Domhnall will play a live-action Mr. McGregor. Rose has been cast as a character named Bea – who is most likely a stand in for the author herself – and Daisy and Elizabeth’s roles have not yet been revealed.
Details of the character Margot would portray is being kept under wraps, but sources report she will be voicing a rabbit if she takes on the role.
Will Gluck is taking on directorial duties for the production, and is also producing the film alongside Animal Logic Entertainment.
Zareh Nalbandian, chief executive of Animal Logic, said of the project: "There are so many great characters in Beatrix Potter’s books that we’ll just be scratching the surface for what we can do. It’s a big film that will be more than a two-year endeavour for us."
Will has also been finalising the latest draft of the script written by Rob Lieber, whilst Doug Belgrad is co-financing the project as well as executive producing through his 2.0 Entertainment banner.
The film is scheduled for release in April 2018 and coincides with the 150th anniversary of the birth of author-and-illustrator Potter – who died in 1943 at the age of 77.
