Måneskin frontman Damiano David to release debut solo album in May

Måneskin frontman Damiano David will release his debut solo album, ‘Funny Little Fears’, on May 16.

The 26-year-old Italian Eurovision winner – whose rock band were crowned winners of the song contest in 2021 with ‘Zitti e buoni’ – faces his fears on the 14-track LP, which he has described as a “manual” for dealing with things in life that scare him.

David said: “I’ve always been afraid of heights, that any moment the ground breaks apart under my feet and in one second, everything’s gone. I’ve been afraid of darkness, an immensity I don’t get to see or understand, that might take me if I don’t watch my steps. I’ve been afraid of myself, asking for too much, chasing something I didn’t even know if I really wanted. And honestly sometimes I’m still scared, but I wrote myself a manual. Hope u find it helpful too. I called it Funny Little Fears. With love – Damiano.”

The collection includes the Labrinth-produced single, ‘Silverlines’, ‘Born With A Broken Heart’, and the most recent single, ‘Next Summer’.

Despite Måneskin’s lead singer and bassist Victoria De Angelis embarking on solo careers, the group have no plans to call it quits.

Victoria – who has released a slew of solo singles, including the recently released ‘Whistle’ – having told NME in 2024, “we are not done”.

The ‘I Wanna Be Your Slave’ rockers are completed by guitarist Thomas Raggi and drummer Ethan Torchio.
