Mandy Dingle’s ‘revelatory’ Emmerdale return

Mandy Dingle’s ‘Emmerdale’ return storyline will be "revelatory" and feature "a lot of twists and turns".
Mark Charnock, who plays Marlon Dingle on the ITV soap, has teased fans they can expect Lisa Riley’s Dales comeback plot to be exciting, and it will leave her on-screen ex-husband Paddy Kirk (Dominic Brunt) shocked.
He said: "The bits that I’ve shot with her are revelatory. There are a lot of twists and turns to come, because of Mandy. God dammit. Paddy’s mind is blown.
"She had so many connections with the village, but especially Paddy."
Mandy has returned to the village with her 16-year-old son Vinny – played by Bradley Johnson – who some social media users have speculated could turn out be Paddy’s kid, but Mark has hinted her return plot could feature something "much more significant".
He added: "I can’t say too much because there are a lot of assumptions made on Twitter about why she’s coming back.
"It could be that but it could be something else, much more significant. So we’ll have to see."
Mark first appeared in ‘Emmerdale’ in October 1996 over a year after Lisa made her Dales debut, and he has always been fond of her after she made him feel so welcome on his first day on set.
Speaking on ‘Lorraine’, he said: "Me, her and Dominic were as thick as thieves 22 years ago.
"She was the first person to give me a big hug and I was immediately embraced by the Dingles, so I immediately just loved her.
"She made me feel so at home.
"We’ve kept in touch over the years but I haven’t seen much of her because our lives went in different directions.
"But when she came back it was like she’d never been away. It was immediate hysteria.
"She’s turned into this wonderful woman."
