Madonna to perform at BRITs

Madonna is being lined up to perform at the BRIT Awards.

The ‘Unapologetic Bitch’ singer is believed to be in discussions with producers to perform at the ceremony next month – 20 years after her last performance at the prestigious celebration – where she will showcase previously unheard material.

A source revealed: ""Madonna wants to perform to the biggest number of people for the maximum impact and there’s no better place for a controversy-filled Madonna performance than the Brits."

The 56-year-old performer – who is "99% confirmed" to perform a medley of tracks from her forthcoming album, ‘Rebel Heart’ at the annual event – will be hoping the performance will peak interest in her new music, after already announcing she will be singing at the Grammy Awards in Los Angeles on February 8.

The source continued: "She has already confirmed she will perform at the Grammys, when she will debut the new music.

"But her album is due out on March 9, a month after the LA ceremony, so she wants another large platform to perform her songs on just before it is released.

The controversial star – who has hit the headlines recently for defacing images of Nelson Mandela and Britain’s Princess Diana to promote ‘Rebel Heart’ – will be hoping to shock once again with her performance to heighten the buzz surrounding her comeback.

The source told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "She has cleared her diary for the Brits. She knows she needs to really entertain and bring a good show because she’ll want to be the talking point."

The ceremony will take place at London’s O2 Arena on February 25, with other performances coming from Taylor Swift, Sam Smith, Ed Sheeran and Paloma Faith.
