Madonna returns to Warner Records

Madonna has re-signed to Warner Records.

The Frozen hitmaker spent the first 25 years of her career with the record label and after almost two decades since her departure, she’s “happy” to have reunited with the company and will release a new dance album, Confessions Of A Dance Floor Part 2, next year.

She said in a statement: ”From being a struggling artist in New York City to signing a record deal to release just three singles, it seemed at the time my world would never be the same again and in fact that couldn’t have been truer.

“Since the beginning Warner Records has been a real partner with me. I am happy to be reunited and look forward to the future, making music, doing the unexpected while perhaps provoking a few needed conversations.”

The 67-year-old singer shared a series of photos on Instagram, including some of her with a typewriter, and wrote: “Almost two decades later – And it Feels like home with Warner Records!”

“Back to music, Back to the Dance Floor, Back to where it all began! COADF- P. 2 [discoball emoji] 2026 (sic)”.

Tom Carson and Aaron Bay-Schuck, co-chairmen of Warner Records, are “honoured” to welcome Madonna “back home” to the label.

They said in their own statement: “This signing represents a historic, full-circle moment, one that brings her back to the label where it all began and reaffirms her unparalleled influence, setting the stage for an exciting new era of creativity and impact.”

Earlier this year, Madonna teased she was working on a follow-up to 2005’s Confessions On A Dancefloor, which included the singles Sorry, Hung Up and Jump.

She wrote in February: “My Valentine’s Day gift to all my fans is to let you know I’m putting my heart and soul into my new music and I can’t wait to share it with you!! [white heart emoji]. Confessions Part 2.(sic)”

She added a gallery of pictures which showed her in a recording studio alongside producer/DJ Stuart Price, who previously worked on ‘Confessions on a Dance Floor’ as well as several songs for her 2003 album ‘American Life’.

Price also collaborated with the star on tours including the 2001 Drowned World Tour, her Re-Invention World Tour in 2004 and the 2006 Confessions Tour, as well as her last trek The Celebration Tour which ran from 2023 until 2024.

The new record will mark Madonna’s first album since 2019’s ‘Madame X‘.

Madonna previously revealed her plans for new music back in December when she told fans she’d been back in the studio with Price and hinted at new releases in 2025.

In a post on Instagram, she wrote: “Working on new music with Stuart Price. These past few months have been medicine for my SOUL.

“Songwriting and making music is the one area where I don’t need to ask anyone for their permission.

“I’m so excited to share it with you. Who wants to hear new music in 2025!.”
