Madeline Brewer has insisted she and Nick Jonas are just friends.
The ‘Handmaid’s Tale’ star admitted she and the ‘Jealous’ singer did share a candlelit dinner together at Via Veneto in Santa Monica, California after the Critics’ Choice Awards, but insisted there was no romance involved.
When Madeline, 25, was asked by to address the speculation she is dating Nick, 25, after the pair were snapped together on the intimate rendezvous, she told ‘Entertainment Tonight’: "No. No. [We] ate food across from each other. I guess [that’s a date].
"But he was really nice. He’s a nice guy. We’re friends. … He’s adorable, yeah. I mean, that’s just objectively. He’s a cute guy."
The ‘Orange Is The New Black’ actress and Nick, 25, sparked speculation they were dating when the pair were pictured together after separately attending the Critics’ Choice Awards earlier this month.
The former Jonas Brothers star recently admitted he is "too busy" for a romantic relationship, and he wants to make sure any romance he engages in is "non-stressful".
Nick said: "It’s not that I’m not pursuing love in some sense, but I’m just too busy right now. The time that I do have, I want it to be fun and casual and light and a non-stressful thing."
Despite his two brothers, Joe Jonas, who is engaged to Sophie Turner, and Kevin Jonas, who has been married for eight years, settling down in serious relationships, Nick doesn’t feel any pressure to follow in their footsteps.
He added: "The opposite. I’m sure there will come a time when I’m ready to make a more serious commitment and be in a relationship like that but I’m thrilled to be able to keep things light at the moment."
The ‘Home’ singer previously dated actress Olivia Culpo, who appeared in his music video for ‘Jealous’, and has been linked to Kate Hudson and Miley Cyrus.
Madeline was previously thought to be dating ‘The Deleted’ actor Spencer Neville.
