Made in Chelsea banned from private club

The ‘Made in Chelsea’ cast have reportedly been banned from filming in a private members’ club.
Producers of the reality TV show – which is based on the lives of a group of posh socialites living in the affluent area of Chelsea in West London – recently approached the Hurlingham Club in Fulham and asked to set up their cameras for scene, but they were refused because some of the members were concerned that appearing on the television would ruin its upmarket reputation.
A source told The Sun Online: "It’s just not one. People pay a fortune to enjoy the facilities – we cannot just open the door to anyone. It matters not that the cast members have close ties. No one wants a camera crew roaming around while members are relaxing. ‘Made in Chelsea’ is supposed to be high brow TV series, but it stands as much chance of doing scenes here as ‘Geordie Shore’ or ‘The Only Way is Essex’. Not many members have ever heard of any of them."
The Hurlington – which has been visited by the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge when they took their five-year-old son George there to play tennis – has 13,000 people on its books but it’s believed no more people are allowed to join the club as it currently has a 30-year waiting list.
A spokesperson for the club said: " As a private members club we must respect our members’ need for privacy and discretion. We must respectfully decline your request for further information on any past private hire of the club."
‘Made in Chelsea’ – which first aired on screen in 2011 – is set to return for its 19th series in the autumn as the stars, including the likes of Sam Thompson, Jamie Laing and Alex Mytton, continue to document their battles with love and lives in the busy capital.
