Lynda Bellingham’s son speaks out after her death

Lynda Bellingham’s son Michael Peluso claims a simple medical test could’ve saved his mother’s life.

Michael, 31 – who is one of Lynda and ex-husband Nunzio Peluso’s two sons – has spoken out for the first time since his mother lost her battle with colon cancer last month to reveal she had been living with the disease for 18 months before it was diagnosed.

Former ‘Loose Women’ panellist Lynda had undergone regular routine tests which failed to catch the disease and Michael believes if his mother had been offered a colonoscopy earlier, she could still be alive.

He said: "She was a massive champion for getting a colonoscopy…It would have saved her life.

"They missed it so much. She had two stool tests, a blood test and they never found it. She was carrying cancer for 18 months before she discovered she had it."

And Michael has also opened up about starring alongside his mother – who also had son Robbie with Nunzio – in her final role in the film ‘Too Close For Comfort 2’, in which she played a mother telling her son she has cancer.

Michael told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "That I found difficult. I actually had to leave the room when we filmed it.

"She is such a good actress and it’s so believable. And because I know that cry because of what was going on at the time."
