Luke Bryan praises ‘professional’ and ‘on-time’ Carrie Underwood

Luke Bryan says Carrie Underwood is one of the most “professional” stars he has met.

The 49-year-old singer has praised his fellow country music star for being the “most on-time person” he has ever known, particularly when they are working together as judges on American Idol.

Speaking to Cody Alan on SiriusXM’s Cody’s Crash My Christmas Party, he said: “Well, you know, the thing about, you learn about, I know about Carrie Underwood, is like she is the most on-time person you have ever met.

“I’m talking about punctual, dialled in, professional.”

Bryan was so full of praise for Underwood, he compared her to legendary NFL coach Bill Belichick, who is known for having a zero-tolerance policy with his players when it comes to punctuality.

He added: “I’m talking about one minute before, like Bill Belichick taught her how to show up on time.”

The Country Girl hitmaker is constantly in awe of Carrie’s perfect timing.

He added: “I mean, I’m in my dressing room and I’m pretty good, but then I’m like, and you can look on the monitor and see who’s in the chair already.

“And it’s, let’s say it’s 9:03, and there’s Carrie, ready, looking at her nails… so, just her punctuality.”

Luke’s Carrie praise comes just over a year after he said the How Great Thou Art hitmaker – who won the fourth season of American Idol in 2005 – was “doing good” as a judge on the music TV show, and he was enjoying spending time with her on the panel.

Speaking in November 2024, he told Extra: “Carrie and I had always been in the business together, but we never spent much time together.

“So to sit behind the desk and watch her really learn how to transition out of being the winner of American Idol and a superstar to, like, being the judge at the table …she’s doing good.”
