Lucy Fallon recalls ‘funny’ Lorraine Kelly Corrie cameo

Lucy Fallon has said one of her "funniest" moments on ‘Coronation Street’ was when Lorraine Kelly guest starred on the soap.
The 24-year-old star enjoyed having the TV presenter on the ITV show last year when the Platt family went on holiday, and Lucy admitted it was like a real-life vacation for the actors because they stayed at the lodges on location, which was "one of [her] best" times on the programme.
Speaking in a video on the ‘Corrie’ Twitter account, she said: "One of the funniest storylines we’ve done was the Platts holiday when they went to stay in a luxury lodge thing and Lorraine Kelly got shot by Gail, who was playing archery.
"That was one of the best week because we actually stayed there. Me, Jack, Tina, Julia, and Ben stayed at the lodges.
"So we had a mini Platts holiday ourselves. So that’s one of my best moments."
Bethany departed the cobbles last night (04.03.20), heading to London to pursue her journalism career, after realising her lover Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard) wasn’t over his late wife Sinead Osbourne (Katie McGlynn).
Lucy took to Twitter to thank the ‘Corrie’ fans for their support, and said it is "not goodbye, just see you later".
She wrote: "Ahh. What an amazing 5 years I have had eh??? Thank you so much for all of the love and support Bethany and I have received over the past 5 years. I’m gunna miss her. Not goodbye, just see ya later I love you guys @itvcorrie x (sic)"
Lucy revealed yesterday (04.03.20) that her mum wanted her to remain on ‘Coronation Street’, because she was concerned the star may "might never work again".
She said: "I don’t think she was very happy, really. She wanted to me to stay."
Her mum then said: "It’s more for the security."
Lucy said: "As a mum she probably worries about me. The fact I might not get another job, I might never work again."
But the star admitted her decision to depart the cobbles had a "now or never" feel about it.
She added: "’Corrie’ was my first job. I was at sixth form before ‘Corrie’. I’ve not done anything else.
"And it got to the point where I’ve been there for five years and had loads of amazing storylines, and it was now or never.
"I didn’t want to get so far down the line and look back and think, ‘I wish I’d gone and tried other things.’
"It might not work out, I might not work again but I need to try, because if I don’t try I’ll never know."
