Lucy Alexander quits Homes Under The Hammer

Lucy Alexander has quit ‘Homes Under The Hammer.’
The 45-year-old presenter has hosted the renovation and auction show alongside her co-star Martin Roberts since 2003, but after 13 years, has now decided to walk away.
Speaking of her decision to bow out, she said: "I have loved being part of ‘Homes Under the Hammer’, it’s been my life for 13 years. I’ve loved every minute and the whole team that have made the programme such a success, but it’s time for a change."
The hugely successful BBC One daytime show, which pulls in at least 1.1 million viewers per episode, follows three properties in need of significant repairs bought at auction.
Dan McGolpin, Controller BBC Daytime and Early-Peak, explained: "Over the last 13 years, millions of viewers have enjoyed Lucy’s infectious enthusiasm for property renovation; she has inspired many of us to improve our own homes or to invest and improve properties that badly need it – Britain’s housing stock owes her a great debt!
"I’d like to thank Lucy for all of the hard work she has put in, she has been there since the start and has helped to make ‘Homes Under The Hammer’ one of the most informative, helpful and best-loved series of its kind."
Lucy’s co-hosting role will be taken over by Dion Dublin, who joined the programme last year, as she joins Martin.
Lucy won’t film any new episodes for the series, but can be seen in those she has already filmed and in repeats.
