Megan Barton Hanson looks set to try to prise Wes Nelson away from Laura Anderson in tonight’s ‘Love Island’ after they share two smooches – but worries about starting "World War Three".
The 24-year-old model will ditch Eyal Booker on this evening’s (26.06.18) episode and immediately signals her romantic interests in the 20-year-old design engineer, much to the fury of Laura, 29, who announces she and Megan "wouldn’t be friends anymore" if she muscles in on her man.
The sparks begin to fly when Meghan chooses to smooch Wes during a game of Snog, Marry, Pie, and he returns the favour when it is his turn to choose who to kiss, in full view of the other Islanders.
Megan says afterwards: "You can see Laura’s back’s up already. She’s worried. The fact that we both kissed each other, I can tell she’s worried. I’m sorry but they don’t fully get on.
"How do I word it to Wes without saying ‘Leave her and get with me?’
"At the end of the day, we’re here to find love and from an outside point of view, Wes and Laura’s relationship is very volatile.
"They’ll argue, they’ll make up, they’ll argue and make up. For me to just sit back and not even attempt to pursue Wes and see how that went would have been stupid."
But air stewardess Laura later vows to ditch Megan as a pal if she couples up with Wes under her nose.
She says: "Obviously if Megan’s going to lay it on with Wes, whether she spoke to me or she didn’t, I wouldn’t think it was OK. I wouldn’t accept it, if she did that, me and her wouldn’t be friends anymore.
"In my opinion, we are seeing each other. If you want to look elsewhere, you can do that and I’m not going to be waiting for you mate."
In the Beach Hut, she says: "If Megan did try anything with Wes, I would be absolutely fuming because Megan’s supposed to be my friend and Wes and I have been together from the start. I don’t want to make things up in my head and drive myself mad.
"Nothing’s actually happened, we’ve just played a game of almost like truth or dare."
Wes later admits he is not "100 per cent happy" with Laura, and fellow Islander Adam Collard tells him he will "regret it" if he does not try to "crack on" with Megan.
The engineer says: "It’s kind of out of character for me to be sitting and just settling. I’m not saying I want to throw away everything I’ve had with Laura, I’m not saying I want to throw away all the things we’ve learnt and if me and Laura are supposed to be then we’ll gravitate back to each other. I’d be lying if I said I was 100 per cent happy."
‘Love Island’ continues at 9pm on ITV2.
