Love Island’s Amber Davies turned down musical role for love

Amber Davies turned down a role in ‘Hairspray The Musical UK’ to appear on ‘Love Island’.
The 20-year-old dancer – who is currently coupled up with Essex boy Kem Cetinay on the ITV2 dating show – snubbed the chance to star in the West End’s sell-out show to stay in the Spanish villa in the hope of finding love and winning £50,000 with her ‘Love Island’ partner.
But, although she seemed happy with her choice, Amber’s mother Susan claimed she was "worried" that her daughter’s decision could ruin her career as a professional performer.
She said: "Initially we were worried it would portray her as something that she isn’t. We were worried that the show would damage her career in some way."
Amber had her heart set on fulfilling her dreams of starring in a musical but changed her mind at the last minute when ‘Love Island’ producers asked her on the show for a second time.
She told The Sun newspaper: "When she initially turned down ‘Love Island’, the producers called her back, desperate for her to come on the show. I think deep down it was what she really wanted."
The brunette beauty – who was originally coupled up with former contestant Harley Judge when the show began last Monday (05.06.17) – recently had sex on-air with her new beau in the room shared with their fellow housemates, but her mother insisted she isn’t offended by Amber’s antics and approves of her new lover Kem.
Susan said: "I think they’re lovely together and I think he’s really grown on Amber. I do think that he’s full of fun and humorous and she loves that. He’ll make her happy.
"I really do think she’s fallen for him.
"If she brings him home, we will be sure to bring up the scene at the dinner table."
