Louisa Lytton signs up to be an NHS volunteer

Louisa Lytton has signed up to volunteer for the NHS to help in the fight against coronavirus.
The ‘EastEnders’ star – who has played Ruby Allen in two stints on the BBC One soap, returning to Walford in 2018 – has answered the UK government’s call for helpers to assist National Health Service nurses and doctors in the fight against the deadly respiratory disease which has so far claimed over 570 lives across Britain.
Taking to her Instagram Stories, the 31-year-old actress said: "Work out done. Comfies on. Back to the car park I go. This will be my spot for the calls I’ll be making as an NHS volunteer."
Volunteers over the age of 18 are being asked to sign up online, and must show no signs of the symptoms – including a dry cough and a high fever – and must pass a DBS check.
They can either sign up to take support calls for those feeling vulnerable, deliver medicines to those in need who are self-isolating, transport healthy patients back to their homes or transport health equipment and medical supplies to the NHS.
Lorraine Kelly also revealed she has signed up as an NHS volunteer to help battle the outbreak.
Speaking on TalkRadio on Wednesday (26.03.20), the 60-year-old ITV daytime host said: "You know me I am not very practical but having said that I can talk a lot as you know.
"It would be a good thing, if anyone is feeling low or just wants someone to talk to or more important, just someone to listen, I can do that. We can all be at the end of the phone.
"I know there is negativity but I really believe the vast, overwhelming majority of people are decent good people who just want to help."
