Louis Theroux gets in shape with Joe Wicks workouts

Louis Theroux has been getting in shape with Joe Wicks’ home workouts.

The 50-year-old filmmaker has beefed up in lockdown by religiously following The Body Coach’s HIIT workouts everyday.

He told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre TV column: "I did it religiously every day, except for weekends. It was perhaps the biggest way I dealt with all the weirdness and sense of uncertainty around the lockdown and the pandemic. I’ve become a little bit of a Joe Wicks evangelist."

The 33-year-old fitness guru provided kids across the nation with a home PE lesson on his YouTube channel to ensure children were still getting exercise during the lockdown.

And Louis – who had Frederick, Walter and Albert with wife Nancy Strang – was determined to lead by example for his three children.

He added: "The first day, the kids did it, then the kids became semi-regular participants. I was trying to lead by example."

Joe is said to have earned £1.6 million after becoming the nation’s fitness instructor during the coronavirus pandemic lockdown, with his ‘PE With Joe’ classes on YouTube, which proved incredibly popular with more than a million viewers per session at their peak.

The 33-year-old fitness coach brought his sessions to an end last month after raising more than £580,000 for the NHS.

He hosted his final class on July 22 as he was joined by his model wife Rosie Jones and their children Indie and Marley for the last instalment.

As they danced and jumped around to the song ‘From Now On’, from ‘The Greatest Showman’ movie, Joe and Rosie let off numerous party poppers, and he admitted he will be back with more online classes at some point.

According to reports, figures for Joe’s companies revealed a massive spike for the time period, which includes the first week of quarantine.

The Bodycoach Online Nutrition Limited company saw an increase from £2.3 million to £3.6 million by the end of March.

Meanwhile, another firm called Joe Wicks Limited saw retained earnings shoot up by £300,000 to almost £3.5 million.
