Louis Smith: My dog is my daughter

Louis Smith treats his dog as if she’s his daughter.
The 27-year-old pommel horse champ has admitted his whole life has changed since he adopted his pet pooch Luna last year because he now has a new responsibility.
Speaking exclusively to BANG Showbiz, he said: "I’ve never had that worry before, where you care for someone – I’m constantly changing her water bowl, making sure she’s got enough enough food to eat, it’s like she’s my daughter."
And it’s not just the necessities Louis worries about as he’s also splurged hundreds of pounds on toys to keep the adorable husky entertained when he’s busy with work.
He explained: "You don’t know how much money I’ve spent on toys! Seriously, I go to the pet shop and I will buy everything off of the shelves. Just because, from the research that I’ve done they get bored easily, so I like to keep her entertained. I’ve got a massive box full, and I give her toys kind of on rotation so she doesn’t get bored.
I’ll get a bunch of toys out, and then next week I’ll get different ones out just to keep her engaged and stuff!"
But it’s not just the handsome athlete pouring everything into their bond as Luna also gives something back.
He said: "Sometimes I can get myself in a pickle with how opinionated I can be. You’re getting it from here there and everywhere else, people having their opinion, you just come home and shut your door. Your dog isn’t saying anything, judging you, she is just happy to see you and lay with you, you know? It’s just a really nice aspect of life."
Meanwhile, Louis and Purina are working together to help create a better world for people and pets.
