Lorna Fitzgerald remembers her ‘awkward teenage phase’

Lorna Fitzgerald feels embarrassed looking at scenes of herself on ‘EastEnders’ during her "awkward teenage phase".
The 21-year-old actress stars as Abi Branning in the BBC soap, and while she has few regrets about growing up on screen, she does look back on her side fringe with some discomfort.
Asked how she found growing up on screen, Lorna explained: "I’ve never had anything to compare it to, but I wouldn’t have had it any other way and I’ve really enjoyed it.
"The only thing is if you’ve gone through an awkward teenage stage and you still get tagged in photos. I’m referring to my side fringe!
"And I cringe at some of the scenes from when I was little, like me singing to my gerbil or getting my head stuck in the railings."
Lorna recently left the show she joined 12 years ago, and she revealed she is going to miss her on-screen family, the Brannings, the most.
Speaking to OK! magazine, the actress shared: "I’ll miss everyone a lot, especially the Branning family. I’ve known Jake [Wood] since I was ten.
"I’m really looking forward to the future and it’s exciting to do new things, but I’ll miss ‘EastEnders’. I loved everyone there."
Lorna revealed that she and Jacqueline Jossa – who plays her sister Lauren Branning – staged a joint party to mark their exit from the show.
She said: "When Jacqueline Jossa and I left, we had a joint get-together for friends."
