Lorde will release new album Melodrama in June

Lorde is set to release her new album ‘Melodrama’ in June.
The 20-year-old singer has publicly announced on social media her upcoming LP will be officially unveiled on June 16, and the star teased the exciting news with the release of an entirely separate "sister" track to the compilation titled ‘Liability’.
The brunette beauty posted a string of tweets to broadcast the news. She wrote: "oh, and also, Melodrama has an official release date: JUNE 16. you can preorder it here https://lorde.lnk.to/melodrama
"i wanted you to have a new song from Melodrama, a new chapter of the story – this is Liability (sic)."
The ‘Royals’ hitmaker has been left feeling "big and intense" after dropping the record.
She continued: "wow feels big and intense having liability out in the world strange part of myself for a lot of people to look at
"good though
"ps. not a single for those asking, just a strange little sister of this album really. but i love it (sic)."
And the star has admitted producer Jack Antonoff "pushed" her a lot whilst creating the album.
She reflected: "remember being in a big beautiful verdant studio in la with jack and those falling chords sounding like the music i grew up on
"jack truly pushed me to a place i’d never been with this album i couldn’t love him more for it (sic)."
However, Lorde – whose real name is Ella Marija Lani Yelich-O’Connor – has admitted she was not a fan of her recently released record because it "freaked and grossed" her out at first.
She added: "this song freaked & grossed me out at first
"& i remember my synesthesia was really blaring in the session, this swirling combo of high school and recent and private and public memories
"felt like when i walk down the hall kind of drunk at a party and shut myself in a bedroom to mumble something happy or sad into my phone (sic)."
Meanwhile, the New Zealand-born star has revealed Rihanna’s single ‘Higher’, which she first heard in the back of a taxi, inspired ‘Liability’.
Speaking previously about how the track was formed, she said: "I had a little cry and I was just like ‘It’s always going to be this way, at some point with everyone it’s going to be this way’. But the song kind of ended up turning into a bit of a protective talismans for me. I was like, you know what, I’m always going to have myself so I have to really nurture this relationship and feel good about hanging out with myself and loving myself."
