Loose Women poised to return to TV screens

‘Loose Women’ is to return to TV screens on Monday (04.05.20) for the first live studio show for six weeks.
The ITV chat show – which stars the likes of Ruth Langsford and Andrea McLean – has been off air in recent weeks due to the coronavirus pandemic, but the broadcaster has confirmed the show is set to be broadcast live from the studio again next week.
Sally Shelford, the editor of ‘Loose Women’, revealed the programme will continue to shine a spotlight on mental health issues, as well as discussing other topical subjects.
She said: "At ‘Loose Women’ we have made it our mission to stop the stigma and start a conversation about mental health, covering issues from postnatal depression to anxiety and addiction.
"With many of our viewers struggling with lockdown, speaking openly and honestly about mental health worries to offer comfort and advice has never felt more important."
‘Loose Women’ recently aired an at-home edition of the show amid the lockdown – but with the programme returning to a TV studio, there are set to be some "adjustments" made to the typical broadcast.
ITV has announced that it’ll be following the social distancing guidelines laid out by the government, with three panellists appearing in the studio and another joining them from home via a video link.
There will also be some pre-recorded episodes across the week, as well as live shows on Mondays and Wednesdays in order to limit the potential risks.
The announcement comes shortly after Nadia Sawalha vowed ‘Loose Women’ would return to TV screens during the lockdown.
She was adamant the ITV chat show wouldn’t "be beaten" by the pandemic.
Nadia said: "We cannot be beaten! We must not! If there’s any way ITV can get it on, I’m sure they will.
"It’s one of their most popular daytime shows. Now, more than ever, people want relatability."
