Lisa Vanderpump will be returning to ‘The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’.
The 55-year-old star had been rumoured to have decided to quit the Bravo show because she was unhappy with the "negative vibes" in the last season of the reality TV programme, but she is now said to have signed a new contract to appear in season seven.
A source told E! News, Lisa is feeling "excited and more comfortable" after a mystery new Housewife also agreed to take part in the show. The newcomer is currently being kept under wraps, but is said to be a friend of the restaurateur.
And Bravo’s support of the issues that matter to Lisa, including LGBT rights and her campaign to stop the dog meat trade in China, was also said to play a part in her decision to return.
The news comes weeks after fellow Housewife Yolanda Hadid quit the show, reportedly after producers told her she would be demoted to a friend of the programme, rather than a main star, in the upcoming season.
Sources claimed that Yolanda told bosses she would only stay if she could remain a main housewife, which they declined.
However, the insider stressed there is no ill feeling between Yolanda, network Bravo or the show’s production team.
When she announced her departure from the show on Instagram, Yolanda – whose diagnosis with Lyme disease, much to the scepticism of her castmates, was documented in the last season of the programme – admitted she had hoped to have a better ending to her time on the fly-on-the-wall series.
She wrote: " I would have loved a more graceful exit then "Season 6" but sometimes we don’t get to control the ending of the chapters in our life………….. I am leaving what’s over without denying its past importance in my life. I believe that every exit is an new entry and with that in mind I say goodbye to my @Bravotv Family as I continue to focus on a my recovery, my children and bring back the privacy within our Home (sic)"
Yolanda – who is the mother of models Gigi and Bella Hadid, and their brother Anwar – went on to thank her fans for their "unwavering" support and admitted she is feeling excited about what the future holds.
She added: "Thank you to all the fans for your love and unwavering support these past 4 years. I am grateful for the housewife experience and all it has taught me. I’am excited about this CHOICE and look forward to the next chapter of my life #RHOBH #TimeToSayGoodbye with#Gratitude @evolutionusa @bravoandy @bravotv #WWHL (sic)"
