Lisa Armstrong’s father dies of cancer

Lisa Armstrong’s father has died after a battle with cancer.
The 42-year-old make up artist – who recently divorced from Ant McPartlin – has been dealt a tragic blow after her dad Derek passed away.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "A lot of people think Lisa is strong, and she is – but she’s had so much to cope with since she and Ant split up. There’s been one thing after another and at times she’s felt on her knees. But she’s kept it together and ploughed on. To do all of that whilst knowing your dad is seriously ill and on borrowed time is quite something. It would break most people."
In the recent weeks, Derek – who was diagnosed a year ago – had become increasingly ill and was discharged from hospital to his home in Oxford. Lisa had been making regular trips back to Oxford from her home in West London to be by his bedside.
Ant and Lisa were granted a divorce in less than 30 seconds back in October.
Judge Alun Jenkins gave the ‘Saturday Night Takeaway’ co-host and the ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ make-up artist a decree nisi at London’s Central Family Court.
The divorce was finalised six weeks later with a decree absolute, confirming the end of the pair’s marriage. The pair had confirmed their break-up in January after being married for 11 years, and together for 24 years.
A rep for the ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’ co-host said at the time: "In response to the recent speculation in the media, Ant is very sad to announce that, after 11 years, he is ending his marriage to Lisa McPartlin. Ant asks for privacy at this difficult time, for both himself, Lisa and their immediate families."
