Linkin Park among music stars set to receive a star on Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2027

Linkin Park, The Smashing Pumpkins and the Ramones are set to bring alternative music to Hollywood Boulevard after being confirmed for the 2027 Hollywood Walk of Fame class.

The trio headline the Recording category, joining chart heavyweights David Guetta, Lil Wayne, Sia, Grandmaster Flash, Marc Shaiman and Karol G.

The Walk of Fame’s TV honourees include Pedro Pascal, Lisa Kudrow, Adam Scott, Keke Palmer and David Alan Grier, while the film list features Elle and Dakota Fanning, Kate Hudson, Idris Elba, Delroy Lindo, Sam Rockwell, Netflix boss Ted Sarandos and comedy legends Cheech and Chong.

Walk of Fame Selection Chairman Peter Roth said the new class reflects “extraordinary individuals” whose work has shaped global pop culture, adding that the committee looks forward to celebrating their place in Hollywood history.

He said: “We are honoured to recognise their remarkable contributions and look forward to celebrating them as they take their place in Hollywood history.”

Linkin Park – now led by Emily Armstrong – recently made history by becoming the first female-fronted act to headline Download Festival.

Linkin Park’s Mike Shinoda has previously said the band would never simply replace Chester Bennington after the frontman’s death in 2017 – but insists their return is about honouring the past while moving forward.

He said during their reunion tour in 2024: “We are thrilled to be back out here. It is not about erasing the past – it is about starting this new chapter into the future, and coming out here for each and every one of you.”

Emily previously said Chester had a “monumental impact” on her.

She told the Daily Star Sunday newspaper: “That mix of singing and screaming, of energy and empathy, that he possessed had a monumental impact on me.

“Chester has shaped me so much as a musician.”
